Paul O’Connor has been keeping bees for over 10 years and is currently the Bee School Director for the Worcester County Beekeepers Association. He manages about 10 hives at two locations. Paul will discuss:
1.) Beekeeping through the seasons from building the hive in the spring, through harvesting the honey and finally wintering the bees over. 2.) How to get started in beekeeping. 3.) The challenges the bees are facing these days in terms of disease and parasites. He will bring an Observation Hive with bees for all to see, and
an extractor to show how the honey is extracted as well as the production hive and all associated equipment.

The Bolton Conservation Trust sponsors the Tom Denney Nature Camp in the summer and the Four Winds Environmental Learning Program in Bolton’s schools which helps Bolton’s children to respect and appreciate
our environment.

Please let us know how many children and adults will be attending so we can plan for food.
